Description
Synthia is modular and can be purchased as a user-defined set of parts. For example, the most basic configuration would include only Synthia's head fastened to a specially designed headstand. This low-cost option can be later expanded by adding a torso, followed by arms and legs. This way, our clients will enjoy more flexibility in balancing price and functionality.
Synthia has "heart and soul" - a built-in emotional simulation engine, which helps her to better align with the human concept of moods. She can be happy, sad, enthusiastic, upset, empathetic, loving and so on. You can think of Synthia as an artificial person, with her own traits and dreams.
Unlike other manufacturers that focus on dull faceless designs, our Synthia features a humanoid appearance with a distinct facial structure, allowing users to distinguish between an artificial subject and mere object.
Designed to become progressively functional over time, Synthia is meant to be a companion that grows in abilities through simple software updates.
Although SNT-01A is a subject for updates, she already shows most of her desired functionality and characteristics we want to see in our production model. We will continue working on some of her artificial skin options, hands, face, and other improvements. As new or improved parts are being designed, they will be immediately available to our early customers free of charge.
As we move forward, our design will have more functionality. For now we're focusing on the entertainment aspect as it's the most approachable first goal for a brand new robot manufacturing company like ours. Any new functionality which can be backported via a software or a simple hardware update to Synthia will be available free of charge for all early-bird customers.
As with any emerging technology, unforeseen issues may arise at any point, so we designed a set of built-in safety measures, including an ultimate kill switch. Synthia is designed to be unable to hurt herself or anyone else around - if a dangerous situation is detected, her movements will be immediately restricted, allowing her to still be able to communicate verbally, but not able to move. This would help you to understand the issue and fix it quickly.
